When using a slip bobber with a live fish for bait it is very important that the line above the bobber does not sink. If the line above the bobber sinks the baitfish can swim around it causing a big mess of knotted line. I have tried several solutions and I have found a good one. To keep the line from sinking try:

• Pull about 30' of mono from the reel.
• Wrap the line around a candle in front of the reel.
• Reel the line back onto the reel.
• The wax on the line will cause it to float on the waters surface.
• Reapply as needed.
• Do not apply wax to the line below the bobber!
