Shumi-Shumi Man VI: The Motion Picture!
It all began late at night (well, about 7:47, actually)on 9 February 1998. What follows is the text from the original Shumi-Shumi Man VI Webpage, simply because it's the easiest way to go about explaining it. Besides, only like four people actually visited that page, so... I guess it's okay. Have fun!
"The story stems from an idea that Andy and I had back on 9 February 1998. On TV there was, among other things, Andy's all time favorite show, The Big Comfy Couch. Andy always insisted on watching it, no matter what I thought. But, nontheless, in one episode, there was a big birthday party (The show said it was a "mirthday" party.). Anyway, during the party, the character of "Major Bedhead" was covered with the "Mirthday" cake (He couldn't eat in a clean way.) Andy and I were sitting on the couches in my living room, watching the show, and on TV everyone was partying and acting like a bunch of idiots. Andy said that it was a "Flores Family Reunion" (After grace Flores, his soon-to-be girlfriend *snicker snicker*.). And then on the screen a cake-covered Bedhead popped up and I said "Staring Andy!" And then Andy and I began speculating about what we could do with the story in or own way. We scribbled out a brief script together and eventually anded up with a story about Andy's birthday party. We needed a title. I suggested Shumi-Shumi Man VI, in respect to his earlier Shumi-Shumi Man VII. So, it was settled and Shumi-Shumi Man VI's kinks were all worked out and the script was typed. This is our original collaboration for the script."

Well, that's more of less how it went! Andy and I wrote the script! It was okay, but, of course, like any first draft, it wasn't as good as it could be. Andy seemed to love it, but I knew it could be better. So, on 23 May 1998, I went back to our original script and gave it a complete overhaul! I completelly reworked the beginning and rewrote major sections, and lengthened it quite a bit. Now our little movie was becoming a motion picture of pretty good stature.
Then Annie left us, so, of course, the script once again had to be redone. Draft 3 came out on 12 September 1998 and featured Stephanie Schermerhorn as the character of Gabrielé. Needless to say, this version didn't last long, either, as Stephanie soon disappeared from the picture. Luckily, we were able to get Annie back in the project, and Draft 4 was written.
Draft 4 of the Shumi script contains the most ambitious rewrite since Draft 2. Completed 25 March 2000, Grace was replaced by Harley and Felicity was tossed in, too. But, what could I expect? Things happened, and now Draft 5 is in the works.
That's the story of the Pre-Production up to now. I'll keep this updated as stuff happens.
