Princesswho doesn't want to be one? You'll have ladies in waiting, countless balls to attend to, several servants who are there to obey your every whim, a closet full of gowns and dresses that you might never end up wearing, hundreds of glittering jewels that ranges from crowns to rings. Countless vacations, a bottomless bank account, a life of pleasure, glamour and style. If you were one, life would be perfect, right? Or so you think Well, maybe that's what brought made you feel IN LOVE with William (or Harry, for others). The facts that you'll become a Princess if you marry one of them.
Princess Ashley (if that's your name). Sounds nice, right? Those fairy tales that we grew up with like Cinderella and Snow White put in these ideas into our heads that we will find a prince whom we'll spend the rest of our lives with and live happily ever after. And it just so happened that we stumbled into these two young men which are REAL princes. It's hard to believe that the society that we live in now, as modern as it may be, still believe in those fairy tale stuff and actually, there's nothing wrong with that. It's just that these make believe stories put ideas into our heads that one day a prince may fall in love with one of us and carry her off to his castle riding this white stallion. And then probably, marry her and then she'll live happily as a princessbut not in this century!
What am I trying to say? Well, I'm sure that you picture yourself meeting Prince William (or Harry) and then ending up marrying him and becoming a real life princess, right? All of us do, even though some may not admit it. Well, I don't think you'll still want to be one after I tell you this
Can you handle those press people meddling into your life: Public and private? Can you stand those paparrazis' taking photographs of you at situations (or times) that are supposed to be private? Can you stand those tabloids making different headlines about you every single day with news, which are completely false? Can you stand being ridiculed by people whom you never met? Can you handle the attention the press will be giving you? Can you control yourself while those media men are trailing and following your every move, hanging into your every word just to see if they can get something "juicy" out of you? Can you stand the embarrassment that you're going to experience whenever you do something that they do not consider "proper"? Can you handle the pressure that the monarchy is going to put on your shoulders? You'll have NO or LITTLE privacy. Can you handle the countless rumors that they're going to make about you? Can you handle the Royal family as you in-laws? Well I'm sure some of you are saying, "Yes, I think I can handle that." Well, if you think you could, then good luck. Do you know that majority of these royals who are under these said circumstances are about to give up? Some of them can no longer handle the pressure that they're going through at the moment that they are thinking of ways, or schemes to get those people out of their lives. Take William, for example. Some tabloid made a false comment about him and he complained to the Press Complaints Commission (or something like that) while his family has told the press to STAY OUT of their lives until they're 18. But what is going on at the moment? People are intruding into their lives (private and public) and some are even saying that it is not that intrusive YET. So imagine what will happened to Wills if he turns 18. And another thing, I know that this is not really proven yet, but these paparazzi killed his mother! And until now, she's still not left alone.
All I'm saying is that life at the palace is not always going to be glamorous. It's not only going to be a fairytale, but a nightmare as well. It's also a challenge. So think, if you think that you could handle these extremes situations, well, congratulations to you and I hope that your fantasy will come true and for those who are thinking whether it is still a good fantasy or not, thank you for facing reality. But hey, You can always just dream about it.
