William's Future Love

Big thnanks to wowdreamer who is sweet enough to send me this article.

At sixteen, Prince William has emerged into prince charminghood, luminously handsome and endearingly shy. And like all the princes charming in the storybooks, this one has the usual trappings: castles with moats, horses and coaches, servants in livery, etc. but like his colleagues, fairytale or otherwise, William doesn't yet have one thing that is traditionally supposed to make him feel happy ever after-true love.

Okay, so recent Royal history maybe a little disheartening when it comes to romance. But that's no reason to believe in fairy tales. Especially as William's will be a twenty-first century fairy tale. And we, the generation that came out with the world's first collection of politically correct fairy stories, certainly do know that the age old formula can be changed for the better, sometimes.

So, whether by tradition or because it is in the nature of prince charming, it's almost certain that this young man will decide that one day to go on a quest for a princess. And, like in fairy tales, the right one may pop in the strangest places.

In the meantime, how about a little speculating on who might be THE one:

CHARLOTTE CASIRAGHI
Daughter of Monaco's Princess Caroline has promise of her mom's dark mediteranean beauty and a pout somewhat reminiscent of Brigitte Bardot's. Like William, Charlotte experienced a sudden loss of a parent when her father died in a boating accident a few years back. With homes both in France and Monaco, she's yet to become a designer's dream, like her mother. Interestingly, Prince Charles and Princess Caroline were popularly linked together by the press before they married others.

PRINCESS MADELEINE OF SWEDEN
The pretty, fresh faced daughter of King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia of Sweden. The Swedish Royal family are not keen on formality like the Brits, Madeleine is definitely more of an outdoors person and shares William's love of dogs and horses. Another plus: A born princess, she knows all the tricks royals are supposed t know. Like how to wave gracefully for hours and hours and hours.

PRINCESS THEODORA OF GREECE
She kept a low profile during big brother Prince Pavlos' big wedding to American heiress Marie-Chantal Miller last year. But the bubbly and cheerful Theodora, daughter of Ex-King Constantine of Greece and Queen Sofia of Spain, has known William since childhood. Might turn into a classic case of affection turning into love.

IVANKA TRUMP
Reared in the family tradition of making headlines and hogging the limelight, this coltish young woman signed up with the renowned Elite modeling agency. Ivanka is a student at the prestigious Chapin prep school in Manhattan and admits weakness for chocolate soufflis. She'd love to be a supermodel, but Queen of England doesn't sound bad, either.

AIMEE MARCOS
In the 70's former first lady of the Philippines, matriarch Imelda Marcos dreamed of marrying off eldest daughter Imee to Prince Charles. It didn't work out then, but so what? Try and try until you die.

ROSE SCHLOSSBERG
Daughter of Camelot Princess Caroline Kennedy and granddaughter of John F. Kennedy and Jackie Onassis. She'll probably be raised on poetry readings, sailing, political speeches and the good old competition of family football.

KATHERINE SCHWARZENNEGER
Has interesting bloodlines, the daughter of Maria Kennedy Shriver and of course, Arnold. Marriage to her would give William entrie to a warm, energetic, rough-and-tumble family life. Papa-in-law would guarantee that he'd never have to hire bodyguards, but then he'd never want o make his wife cry either.

LADY GABRIELLA WINDOR
The pretty daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent has been raised in the tradition of noble oblige. Gabriella has been trained in all duties of aristocratic young ladies, and is a favorite of the Queen's. She is William's second cousin once removed. That's traditional, too-Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were first cousins.

LADY DAVINA WINDSOR
Younger daughter of the duke and Duchess of Gloucester, is another of William's distant cousin's. A college student in London, Davina goes for the new grunge fashions (uh-oh!) that might be a little too much for the rest of the royal family. Her other great passion is travel.

ANNA PAQUIN
First appeared in the movie The Piano. The 16-year-old actress from New Zealand has a cameo role in Steven Spielberg's Amistad where she'll be playing a young Spanish Queen. Cerebral and cute, a deadly combination.

LADY TATIANA MOUNTBATTEN
Kissing-cousin Tatiana is the daughter of the 3rd Marquis of Milford haven, a great niece of Prince Charles' "honorary godfather", Lord Mountbatten of Burma. Canada is home to this sweet-faced aristocrat.
