Bomber Bomb Camera

I purchased this item with other military related items from a local auction. A buddy of mine who was in the service said it looked like a camera used to watch bombs as they fall from a modern era bomber. There are no id markings on the unit. It is a really heavy duty piece, so I believe his guess may be right. It has a camera inside the housing, but I can't gain access (no proper tools) to see what type camera is enclosed. The only damage seen on the unit is a slight dent on the front near the glass part where the sealing ring tightens.
