May 22, 1999 at Dusk in Delaware County
In early June, 1999 I received an e-mail from
a lady who lives in Delaware County, Ohio
stating she had seen what she considered to
be a Bigfoot creature. I contacted
investigator Linda Wygle and asked if she
could do an interview with the eyewitness.
She said yes, and below you'll see her report
that was submitted to me.
"A lady who wishes to remain anonymous
witnessed a sighting on May 22, 1999.
Interview took place on June 14, 1999 and
reads as follows.....
Reported seeing a large figure crossing S.R.
23 north of Deleware. Time of day was dusk,
yet not dark enough to have headlights on.
The creature is described as having long
stringy jet black hair and appeared hunched
over, although could not tell if creature was
on two or four legs. Witness described
creature to be as tall as an elephant (10')
and was moving faster than any horse or deer.
An area review was made on June 19, 1999. The
alleged creature appeared from a 30 acre
wheat field (left of road) and crossed S.R.
23 (5 lane highway) into a thick tree line
(right of road) that merged with a 50 acre
bean field. If the alleged creature was to
follow that tree line, it could reach the
Olentangy River within a half a mile and had
either direction with ease to the thick tree
and brush cover that follows the river.
There has been no other sighting to my
knowledge in the area. There was not a full
area check conducted due to the sighting
being almost a month old, and alleged
creature traveled through private
property."
Special thanks to Linda for the research on
this report. When I spoke with the lady on
the phone, she told me that in 1987 her
brother had a sighting at a local park. She
had made fun of her brother; even laughed at
him and was skeptical of Bigfoot, until she
had this encounter.
