Our own President, Bridgett Nappi, takes the win at Wapokoneta, Ohio. Aboard MJ Sneakers, a gray mare who is currently racing at Northfield Park. This was the mares first start under saddle, but she won like a pro. The mile went in 2:09.1.
Finishing a close second was Raidant Chip with Elane Elmore up, not far back third was My Trap, Christina Russell up, a gamely fourth was Sir Beaudemagus by Donielle Pollack in the saddle, and fifth was Max Kister, riden by Jamie Coffy.
There was two blankets given out to the winner and second place finisher. We would like to thank the fair board for allowing us to compete at the fair, their hospitality and providing a good purse.
BSSC Norwalk on August 15, 1999 $1,100: MJ Sneakers, makes it three in a row after her wire to wire win at Norwalk. This means four in a row for her rider, Bridgett Nappi. Max Kister made the gray mare work for her money sneaking up on her down the stretch.
Sir Beaudemagus and Donielle Pollack finished a good third holding their post position.
Fourth was Doe Deer, riden by Jean Abranovich, the team had won the 1998 Norwalk race. Fifth was Topsy Sharp in her first Under Saddle event. The bay mare is owned, riden and trained by Kimberly Sloan.
Jefferson on August 14, 1999: The track was a mud pit at Jefferson County Fair, for the Race Under Saddle. There was a hour rain delay. After Mother Nature, did her damage the track was to muddy for the sarting gait. They elected on a "Gentleman's Start". This is where you start with out the car and must not pass the horse in the one hole until after the starting wire.
This was "Sand My Agenda's" first start in and Under Saddle Race. He won the mile in 2:11, with Winning Rider, Bridgett Nappi, aboard. This was the third time that Agenda had been riden. Nappi said,"he hasn't had much success in the race bike lately, but seems to relax and enjoy racing under saddle." Sand My Agenda is a 4 yr old bay gelding by Only Mine, out of Liquid Gold by Oil Burner. He is owned and trained by Elaine Elmore and David Carnachione.
Finishing second was "Twin B Cody", an eleven year old bay gelding out of Keystone Kodiak by Albatross. He is owned and riden by Tabitha Elmore. This was his first Under Saddle Start.
Finishing third was "Radiant Chip", a brown 7 yr old gelding by Radiant Ruler out of Falcon's Gloria by Falcon Almahurst. He was owned, riden, and trained by Elaine Elmore. This was his second start Under Saddle.
The 1998 Undefeated RUS horse "Highly Rated"(p.RUS 1:59), broke stride and was fourth. He is a brown gelding by Nukes Image out of Fair Rating by Governer Skipper. He is owned, riden, and trained by Darla Conklin. This was his first start this season Under Saddle.
Finishing fifth was "Doe Deer", a bay 6yr old mare by Sandman Hanover out of Doe Lobell by Flying Bret. She is owned, riden and trained by Jean Abranovich. This was also the mares first start this season Under Saddle.
1999 Final Race Delaware, Ohio $4,250
The 1999 Final Race at Delaware, Ohio was sponsored by Peak Performance Nutrition, and Plaza Buick Pontiac. The race was a huge success, with many thanks to our sponsors and our officers Bridget Nappi and Donielle Pollack.
The 1999 RUSROA Final Winner was Higly Rated, rode by Darla Conklin. That is their second final victory. The pair won from gate to wire. The team seems to race with such ease. Congradulations, from all of us at RUSROA.
Finishing second was Max Kister riden for the first time by Donielle Pollack. The 7yr old gelding is by Naivanti out of Bust Out Cookin. third was Dare to Cross, in his third RUS event with Jamie Coffy in the saddle. He is a 5 year old bay gelding by Dare You To, out of Easter Cross. fourth was KB Scott, Billy Atkinson in the irons, and fifth was Sir Beaudemagus riden by Tabitha Elmore. This will be the campainers last RUS final event, as he will retire in 2000.
