DEPRESSION

-a terrible disease that can affect ANYONE

I have expirienced depression, and I am on medication for it. I thought it would be a good thing to share with people. So, what exactly is depression? It is a disease. It usually can't be prevented and should not be ignored. It can affect everyone from a child to a grandparent. It affects a persons mood and attitude towards life and toward other people. Some people aren't even aware that they have depression, or they try to deny it. Some adults think that teens and younger people can not suffer from depression because they are "too young" and they are supposed to be having fun and everything. Well, they are affected. I was, and I know other people who are. It is a horrible feeling, and it feels like you are on a never-ending downward spiral. Some people decide to end this spiral... about 40% of high school have thought about commiting suicide. That is really sad, and also very scary. Depression also runs in families. I will list some signs of depression. If you think you are depressed or know someone who is, please get help. Talk to someone that you trust to help you and someone who will listen. Feel free to email me at ShimeryBlueAngel@aol.com.
