My Tribute To The White Album

I love the Beatles, and most of all I love the White Album. Yes, I do appreciate all of the work they have done--my favorite song, from Sgt. Pepper's, is A Day In The Life. And nothing comes close to side B of Abbey Road. But I have always had a personal fascination with the White Album. My dad gave me a copy that he bought thirty years ago, with all four of the glossy photos of the band, and a poster with the lyrics on one side, and a photo collage on the other (I framed the lyrics side :) I own two CD's, one regular double disc that I play all the time, and one limited edition release with extra tracks. I love the natural progression through many different moods, the wonder in how a double album can hit you, again and again, with so many truely great songs. So this is my tribute page to my personal favorite album of all time--The White Album.

Facts About The White Album

It was released in the UK on November 22, 1968, and in the US on November 25 by Apple Records.
The album stayed at number one on the charts for nine consecutive weeks in both countries.
It sold four million copies after one month, the best selling double album in history until Saturday Night Fever was released nine years later.
Recording of the album began on May 5, 1968 and ended on October 14--the longest time the Beatles ever took to record an album.
It consists of 30 classic songs.
