Today you have decided to visit your friend Doogan, who lives in the Featherdrake Garden just beyond the Dark Side Of The Wall. The featherdrakes are growing more each day, you think as you glance up at the huge aeryies shrouded in the thick summer canopy.

It seems Doogan, a tomte from The Dark Woods of Morion, could sense you would drop by today; he's gathering tall grass for the aeyries near the entrance. "Aye, me dear friend! You have come to see us again, you have! You look very well! The whisper in the trees told me there would be a visitor today, they did! But they did not reveal to me that we would be honored by such wonderful company as yourself! Come, sit with me, rest, you must have traveled a long way!

You decide to sit with Doogan for a moment and listen to the fairy songs.

Soon the forest rejuvenates you, and you walk with Doogan down the path to visit the featherdrakes. In the distance you hear humming--a low voice harmonizing with a sound like a tinkling bell. What could be making that sound?

"Merian!" you call to your pixie friend. "Who is that with you?"

"Oh, hello!" Merian calls. "I was just teaching Ostara to sing. She is a bark featherdrake, the daughter of Pheonix, of the fourth rank. She taught me about the useful plants that grow in the forest...bark featherdrakes are natural herbalists, you know. She still hasn't told me how she manages to change her color, but I thought I would teach her about my music. She has a lovely voice, don't you think? She has been practicing a song to sing for her mate, Doner, a sunset who lives nearby with his bondmate Serah."

You give Ostara a pat on the head and praise her beautiful singing. Then you bid Merian farewell and continue down the path.

Serendipity, the female sky featherdrake and the oldest in the garden, is curled up in her aeyrie deep in the woods.

"Hi, me pretty girl!" calls Doogan. "Look who is here to see you!"

Serendipity swoops down with a sudden gust of wind.

"Ha ha, conjured up the wind for your own purpose again, you did. That is her special power." (To learn more about featherdrakes or to adopt one of your own, click Serendipity and speak with Tygress.)

"Her mate, Gavirn of Driss Forest overseen by me dear friend Sheval, is doing well. They are inseperable! How happy she is when they come to visit!"

After a short walk down the path, deeper into the woods, you begin to feel an overwhelming sense of calm. What could that feeling be?

"Another featherdrake!" you exclaim.
"Oh! That is Levonier, a male spring 'drake from the 14th clutch. His name is an old name from me homeland of Morion. He has the power of moods, he has. He gives us a sense of peace as we go about our day."

Not far down the path you happen upon Phoenix, named in honor of her amazing comeback. She was abandoned before she had hatched and was adopted by Doogan. She is a berry, of the fourth rank, with the power to make fruit grow in the trees out of season.

"I know that Phoenix has found a mate. His name is Leran, a Sunset featherdrake from the Pool of Starlyte. Is that correct?"

"Aye," answers Doogan. "They are the parents of Ostara. Mother and daughter are happiest when they are together."

Phoenix gives you a whistle to say hello, and then swoops up to the nearest tree, perching on a branch.

"Do you see the featherdrake hiding near Phoenix's aeyrie?"

Squinting, you look up and see another featherdrake perched on a branch high in the canopy.

"That is an abandonling from the 16th clutch. A coal male we have named Ky-Elor, an old name meaning Son Of Elora, the fire guardian. Phoenix adopted him, and we are slowly receiving his trust, we are."

"Now that you have seen the feathdrakes, would you like to come and visit me family?"
