Items discussed at the 2-28-04 meeting:
Hello Everyone,
I thought you might like an update from the Saturday meeting. After a great deal of animated bantering the committee, Rudi, Rob, Nick, Rebecca, Beth, Kelly, Lynette, Shannon, and I (Annamarie) have made some decisions.
Save the date: Saturday July 24th from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. The location will be Snow Trails on Possum Run Road (if we can secure it for under $ 500.00…our current quote is $ 700.00). Rebecca has generously offered to use her connections to trade services for a price reduction. (She will not disclose what services!) The price will be $40.00 per person or $75.00 per couple. We are not trying to penalize our single classmates (as Rob York noted at the meeting) we are trying to encourage spouses and dates. We agreed to include one free drink ticket per person with the ticket price, otherwise drinks will be on a cash basis with Snow Trails.
Nick has volunteered to research availability for a block of rooms at area hotels. Let Nick know if you will be reserving a room locally (July 24th weekend is Super Bike Weekend at Mid Ohio Racetrack. Many of the Hotels are already full).
Rudi will be securing a band or DJ. The committee decided to spend around $300.00.
We agreed to hire Park Avenue Express catering and to spend no more than $ 15.00 per person on heavy appetizers. Committee members volunteered to bring appetizers. (I volunteered Marcy to fix her famous Shrimp mold.) I agreed to put together a menu for the next meeting.
Someone…I’m not sure who…suggested we hold a raffle to help build funds for the next class reunion. Our 25th? Great idea! Rebecca volunteered to organize a 50/50 raffle and the committee members agreed that everyone would sell tickets. If you would like more information on donating to the Class reunion fund or in purchasing 50/50 raffle tickets please email Rebecca Hacker Harris. Her email is listed on this site.
The Committee has decided on a theme for the evening event. I can not, however, disclose the theme at this time. It will be a surprise! Rob York has volunteered to create the party favor. Yes…Rob York has agreed to create the party favor! You will just have to wait and see.
The decorating committee has a few requests. Do you have your high school sports, band, etc. uniform? We promise to return it to you shortly after the reunion, clean. We also need class memorabilia. Do you have any photos? What do you remember about high school? What completely stupid moments stick in your mind? (I remember getting Mannings suburban airborne on Millsboro road!) Contact Beth Malaska, Rebecca Hacker Harris, Lynette Santoro Au, or me with cool high school stuff.
Beth Malaska, John Alton, and Marcy Bemiller are working toward contacting everyone via mail with information on the reunion and the web site.
We are planning Friday and Sunday events. More information later.
