What has Beth Malaska been up to ?

Twenty years has flown by! I hope to see everyone at the reunion. While there are a few of you I still see occasionally, I would love to catch up with the rest.

I am currently working for Richland Bank in Mansfield. I joined the bank in April of 2003 and have just accepted a new position as Teller Supervisor for the Marion Avenue branch. My first year in the banking industry has been an interesting one to say the least. It is so vastly different than my previous positions, but seems to be a great fit. Prior to Richland I worked for Kleshinski, Morrison & Morris, CPA's and their Pension Administration company, Summit Benefit Solutions, and as Operations Manager at Readmore Bookstore for 10 years. While at the bookstore, I became very active in the regional trade association for independent booksellers. Although no longer working in the industry, I am still involved with the Great Lakes Booksellers Association handling all the Author events for the annual Trade Show and Convention. This extremely fun responsibility allows me to both work one-on-one with authors while they sign copies of their books, and to handle mass autographing sessions for 20-30 authors.

I am a self diagnosed workaholic, am not married and have no children. I do, however, have two "honorary" nephews whom I adore. My family is still a very important part of my life! Amy spent quite a few years in Missouri working for Southeast Missouri State University and Truman University in the northeast corner of the state. She has since moved back to Ohio and is now at Walsh University in North Canton. She is currently the Associate Dean of Students and Judicial Affairs. We meet every Monday evening in Canton to talk and have dinner. It's nice having her back. When she was in Missouri we would see each other only twice a year - I'd drive out in September for our birthday and she would come home for a couple of days at Christmas. If you would like to get in touch with Amy, the email address is amalaska@walsh.edu. My brother is living in Covington, KY. He is working for the Cincinnati Post and is also the editor and writer for the Bearcat Sports Digest - a sports magazine for UC alum. He puts out 20 editions from September through early June and then is ready for the summer off! Unfortunately, the Post keeps him pretty busy during the summer and we can only get together about every 2-3 months. I believe, however, that we are keeping a couple of cell phone companies in business with our calls.

Well, that's it ~ a quick run down of what I've been up to. You can contact me at the email address below. Have a safe trip in for the reunion and if not attending, please keep in touch. God Bless.
