What has Paul Berger been up to ?

20 YEARS?!?!?!?! Can't be - I still feel like a kid! Except for those days when I feel really old! Ah well, what can ya do? Here's my life in a nutshell:

I work at Turner Broadcasting, in the Network Operations Division for TBS and TNT, and have been there for almost 2 years. I am the Senior Coordinator for the Quality Control Group dealing with commercial inventory. Basically, that means that I make sure that commercial spots are booked right, and air correctly. It's an incredible company to work for, and I actually love my job (how many people can say that these days?!)! Before that I worked as a programmer at an Information Management company called Virtual Image Technologies, and was there for 13 years.

I'm still playing guitar and bass - it's really my therapy. I play guitar in the praise band at church, and I also play bass and guitar in a Christian Rock band named Lifeline. We write all of our own songs, and play pretty much whenever and wherever we can. We finished a CD last fall, and almost have enough new songs to start another one. I also have been doing a lot of recording in some project studios around the Atlanta area, which is a lot of fun, and quite challenging.

I have been married since 1997 to my awesome Debbie, who I met at my church (Northwest Christian Church). She's a singer in the praise band, and that's how we met. She had no intentions of marrying a "long-haired hippie guitar player", but I guess she got over that (up until about 2001, I had REALLY long hair - down to the middle of my back). She works as a medical receptionist. We do not have any children yet, except my guitars, which she calls my children from a previous marriage.

One of the coolest things that we've done in the last few years was taking a missions trip to Honduras. We went in the summer of 2002 with a group from our church, to work at two colonies outside of San Pedro Sula. The poverty was unbelievable, and really made us appreciate how good we have it here in the U.S. We did a lot of construction work there for two mission compounds that consist of a school, church, and a medical clinic. It felt really great to do some work that really made a difference in some people's lives. So much so, that we sponsor a beautiful little 7 year old girl there named Sania. We're planning to return there next year.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the reunion. I'll be in Nashville at a music industry convention. But I send a great big "HELLO" to everyone attending, and wish you all the best.
