Wu-Tang Storiez Page

Personal Profilez

Tha Wu-Tang Clan has been makin movez in tha industry since '93 wit tha release of 'Enter the Wu-Tang(36 Chambers)'. They opened up a whole new era of hip-hop. Founding members Prince Rakeem/The RZA and Genius/GZA had early deals wit Tommy Boy and Cold Chillin records. Both were disgusted by their labelz actionz and left in tha pursuit of a dream. They linked up wit their cousin, Ol' Dirty Bastard, and 5 others and started what tha world would come to call tha Wu-Tang Clan.

Tha word 'Wu-Tang' is chinese for 'battle' and this is exactly what tha group did. They battled tha industry which had attempted to sell them short and battled all tha non-believers out there. They did this wit tha help from a song called 'Protect Ya Neck'. It was tha first single off tha album and in some wordz, tha openin tale of a legacy. Throughout tha rest of 36 chambers came successful singles such as 'Method Man', 'Da Mystery of Chessboxin', and 'Can It Be All So Simple'. But, none was as successful as tha song 'C.R.E.A.M.' It's sometimes thought of as 'Tha song that made Wu-Tang.' but, real headz know that Protect Ya Neck started it all.

Over tha years, Tha Wu-Tang Killah Bee'z remained a 'buzz' in tha public eye. Releasin solo's from group artists Method Man, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Shallah Raekwon, Genius/GZA, and Ghostface Killah. They also did numerous soundtrackz and side projects, such as Gravediggaz. Tha Wu had established a foundation most have come to admire. Then, in tha summer of '97 came tha long awaited spectacle-Tha second Wu-Tang album. Much was anticipated from this album. Tha Wu-Tang had grown a large fan base and millionz were hungry for a taste. Tha results disappointed no one. Besides tha addition of Masta Killa to tha group, tha album was no different than any Wu-Tang album. It had deep rhymez, godly beats, and hidden messages. Anotha strong point of tha album was it's abundance of positive messages. At some points, you had to listen real carefully. But, believe me, tha positivity is there.

All in all, tha Wu-Tang have made an impact and won't be forgotten anytime soon. In tha wordz of Masta Killa on 'Triumph': 'Tha Wu-Tang Dynasty has emerged!'

And it has, wit a shockwave!
