On the game: "I hope very much that their program enjoys a good offseason. I have worked with Rod Dowhower in the Rose Bowl and he will do a good job. You can't win too many football games with all the turnovers we had today.

"We came here with a main objective of not getting anyone hurt. I thought Joe Germaine played absolutely spectacular. He may have taken seven or eight snaps since training camp and that's it. He did an outstanding job going in there, and he just found out Friday that he was going to play I can't say enough about Germaine. I haven't seen too many performances like that on such a short notice."

On play of offense: Offensively we stopped ourselves. We fumbled the ball three times, Kurt throws two interceptions, one goes through Marshall Faulk’s hands and the other one was the defensive lineman who grabbed the ball and pulled it down, a la Grant Wistrom. Then Joe Germaine went in and threw a couple.

On play of Joe Germaine: I really think that Joe Germaine did an outstanding job. I think that now, in watching what he did in that situation, considering that he did not take a snap with the first team offense for the entire season until Friday of this past week. I think he did an outstanding job. It shows that he has the ability to take mental reps every day on the practice field. He is a very smart young man. It is a real tribute to his self-discipline.
