The Creator of the Wheel of Time universe (aka the author), Robert Jordan

The Wheel of Time is a fantasy series (8 books and counting!) written by Robert Jordan. Personally, it is one of the best series of books that I have ever read. Through my mild obsession with Wheel of Time (henceforth called WoT), I have had the pleasure to meet many other fanatics like myself on the Internet, fanatics who have become friends. My two favourite sites are Dragonmount and Wheel of Time.org/Pages of Prophecy for my daily dose of WoT. Anyway, read the books! Go visit the sites! Life is too short to die without reading The Eye of the World or working your way to The Path of Daggers!
(For the uninitiated, the books are: The Eye of the World, The Great Hunt, The Dragon Reborn, The Shadow Rising, The Fires of Heaven, Lord of Chaos, A Crown of Swords and The Path of Daggers. "New Spring" (a story in the anthology of the year, Legends) and Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time (aka The Guide) are optional reading)

I'm also a player at a role playing game/board called War of Power, based on WoT. My character is Jaane Kerimon, an orphan with a curious past in WoT's Age of Legends... So far, the role-play has been plagued with technical difficulties, but hopefully that will change soon.

My Wheel of Time Pet Theory
(advanced readers only!)

I think that the Blight is good. I think it was created in the Age of Legends by the Aes Sedai to be a living barrier between Shayol Ghul and the rest of the world. But it was tainted either by the Dark One's touch or by the taint on Saidin, hence why it's so mutated now. Proof? One, it's a living growing thing that has grown larger as the threat of the Shadow has. Two, it completely encircles the world. Two and a half, it's smaller in Seanchan, where the threat of the Shadow is less. Coincidence? I think not. Thirdly, we know that the Aes Sedai of the Age of Legends were into making living constructs. Why not make a living guardian? Fourth and the final point, without the Blight's protection, the Borderlands would have been dead a *long* time ago.

Email me if you want to agree my pet theory. Challengers are always welcomed!

Read about Blackthorne and Crimsonthorne in their biographies and in the story, 'New Moon Rising'
