“I’m going to miss you, A LOT, please call me or leave me a message everyday, please?”-Nick said as he wrapped his arms around her.
“I’m going to miss you too, but I’ll be fine.”-Macey
“I love you baby”-Nick
“I love you too.”Macey said as she kissed him. They stood there with their arms around each other dreading the moment she had to board the plane.
“Last call for flight 2400 to New York City”-intercom
“I better go”Macey said as she hugged him one more time, but not letting go for a couple seconds. She kept saying to herself, that she better go, but something made her not want to let go, she had this feeling that things would never be quite the way they used to be from this time on.
“Call me when you get in”Nick said. Then he gave her a kiss and she was off.
N ‘Sync was already on the plane, Macey’s seat was right next to Justin’s, they ended up talking the whole way to New York. They arrived in New York 4 hours before their show started so they had to go straight to Radio City Music Hall for sound checks. The show went well, the crowd accepted her more than she thought they would. The show was over by 11:30, and she went straight to her hotel , called Nick, and went to bed.

The tour quickly passed by and the day when she finally could back to Florida came. During the tour Nick’s birthday had passed, but that didn’t bother him. Macey finally arrived back in Orlando, she spent some time with Nick, then it was time for Nick to go on his 3 month tour.

Nick was about a month through his tour when he asked Macey to come visit him for the first time.
“Hey Macey, I have a couple days off in Chicago, I can get you a plane ticket and you can fly up here for the weekend?”-Nick
“I can’t, I have a show tomorrow night, sorry.”-Macey
“How about in a month, when I’m in New York.”-Nick
“I’ll see,”Macey said not quite sounding like herself, and Nick noticed it.
“Macey, are you OK? You sound really sad or something.”Nick
“I’m just tired, I’ve been doing lots of shows lately, and I’ve been working at the record store a lot too.”-Macey
“You’re sure you’re OK?” Nick said not really believing her.
“Yeah, well I’ve gotta go to work, I’ll talk to ya later.”Macey said
“I love you”Nick
“Bye, I miss you”Macey said hanging up the phone. Nick sensed someting was wrong, just by the tone in her voice, but he couldn’t figure out what. She had become more distant lately, but he thought it might be that she missed him. Maybe she is just tired, Nick thought trying to convince himself to think that.
A month came and went and Nick asked her to come to New York.
“Macey, please? I have 2 days off in New York. I already have a plane ticket waiting for you, please?”-Nick said pleading with her.
“I told you I have to work, I need the money!”-Macey
“I told you if you needed something I could help you pay for it.”Nick
“No, you can’t, I have to do things on my own. I’m independent and it needs to stay that way. I used to rely on everyone else for things, and that just doesn’t work. I have to things on my own for once.”Macey
“Please, I miss you so much.”Nick
“I know Nick. I miss you too much, and seeing you and leaving you again will just make it worse.”-Macey
“Fine Macey. I don’t understand you sometimes, at all. Something’s wrong and you won’t tell me what it is, I can sense it in your voice. What makes it so hard for you to open up to me. I love you, and this hurts me so much to see you, hear you like this. Would it kill you to tell me what’s wrong, would it?”-Nick
“Nick, it’s not you! It’s me, I’ve never been in a serious relationship, like this. I don’t open up to many people because I’ve been hurt so many times. That makes it hard for me to trust anyone.”Macey
“If you love me so much then why won’t you open up to me. Or are the words I love you, something you don’t mean, are they just words to you, because they aren’t just words to me.”-Nick
“Nick, I’m sorry, so sorry”-Macey said as she started to cry.
“We never fight, what’s wrong, why are we acting like this over something so little?”-Nick
“I don’t know. I just miss you so much, it’s hard sometimes to get up in the morning and go to work at Virgin Records and see the big billboard of you and the guys hanging on the outside of the store. It makes me want to cry almost everytime, because it reminds me of you, of me.”-Macey
“Macey, just come to New York. PLEASE. If you miss me so much this is your chance to see me again. I want to see you. I miss you too ya know. It’s hard for me to when I have to go into a record store for a signing and I look at the best selling rack and the first CD I see is yours. I see your smile on the cover and it makes me want to see you again so much, but I can’t because I’m not at home, I’m 500 miles away in a strange town.”-Nick
“OK, Nick, I’ll come, when is the flight?”-Macey ‘It’s tonight at 7, I’ll meet you at the airport when you arrive.”-Nick
“I’ll see ya then, bye.”-Macey
“I love you,”Nick said as Macey hung up the phone.

Hours later she was on her way to see Nick, but something just didn’t feel right. When she arrived Nick was waiting for her.
“Macey!”Nick said as he ran up and hugged her.
“Hi, Nick”-Macey
“Let’s get out of her, now.”-Nick
“Ok, let’s go.”-Macey

Macey was acting weird, she was much more quiet than normal. Nick noticed, but he didn’t say anything. Macey and Nick went back to his hotel. They watched TV and Macey fell asleep in Nick’s arms right away. So Nick though the reason she was acting weird was that she was so tired. The next morning Macey woke up in Nick’s arms, but it just didn’t feel right anymore. So she got up took a shower, and started to pack her bags, just then Nick woke up.
“Hey, what are you doing?”Nick asked
“This isn’t going to work.”Macey
“What isn’t going to work!?”-Nick
“Our relationship. I love you too much to do this to you.”-Macey
“Do what to me!?”-Nick
“If you’re thinking about me all the time then you can’t think about your career. I’m holding you back, I know I am, that’s why I need to go.”-Macey
“No, you aren’t holding my career back and you know it, that’s just an excuse, WHAT IS WRONG!? WHAT DID I DO TO YOU!?”-Nick
“Look what I’m doing to you! I AM HOLDING YOU BACK! I’m going to leave now, so you can go on with your life. Try and forget about me, I’m reallly sorry I ever came back into your life. I’m going back to Orlando, tell the rest of the guys I’m sorry. I love you Nickolas, that’s why I’m leaving. I’m leaving for your sake, not mine. You fell in love with a girl who has problems of loving, of trusting, and I’m sorry I didn’t warn you, but I fell in love with you too. I thought it would work, I opened up to you. You’re the best thing that has ever happened to me, but now it’s time for me to let go, and I hope you can do the same.”-Macey said crying as she walked out the door into the hallway. Nick ran into the hallway after her.
“Macey, STOP! LOOK WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO ME NOW!”-Nick said crying.
“Good-bye Nick, I’ll always love you.”Macey said as she vanished into the elevator. This would be the last time that Nick or any of the guys would see for a few months.
