Oh Baby, Baby

Ahhhh...The sweet sound sound of bubblegum pop fills the air...

STATS

Name: Britney Spears (Britney. I think it fits, don't you? Think of "Britney" from "Daria")

Hobbies: Dancing, bulimia, calling Justin Timberlake, "acting", posing for naughty pictures, surgically enhancing herself, contradicting herself, looking in the mirror, irritating teenage girls, oh yeah, she sings too...sometimes.

Favorite Color: baby blue (hmmm...what a coincidence?) and pink

Celeb Crush: Ben Affleck and Brad Pitt (Way to be original!)

Which N Syncer she clicked with first: "Lance" because they lived in adjacent states (Well Hey!)...this was of course after Justin told her to stop following him.

Favorite Sport: Basketball--Did anyone think otherwise? No. She would LOVE badmitton if Justin played it (wouldn't we all pick up a birdie though?).

Favorite artists: Janet Jackson, Natalie Imbruglia, the Olson Twins

Our thoughts on the breast augmentation scandal:

Hmmm, this is a toughy. Let's say she didn't. Why would she not come out and say so? She was recently on TRL and they didn't look that big. She would have no reason to, plus the doctor must have been really sick to perform that kind of surgery on a kid. I support her if she didn't. It must be hell to have someone, everyone, think that your breasts aren't real, even make a song out of it. BUT SHE SHOULD SAY SOMETHING!!!

Now, if she did get the surgery, than she's one messed up child. Why? Did she think she really needed them? Was it her decision? Did she think no one would notice? Ha! The Kid's Choice Awards were very weird, because they were huge then, but not now. I don't know why I care so much, but I am fascinated at the hypocracy of this girl. She seems so...I don't know, fake, I guess. She seems that she knows what sells (sex) and goes with it.

(oh yes...look at her sweet, innocent self...)

She should not have to compromise her morals to anybody, so blaming managers and producers is not going to cut it. She has total control over what she does. Nobody made her pose like that in Rolling Stone, it was her choice. It was a bad choice, no matter how well she thinks those pictures turned out. When people read that, they don't think of a great artist, who is original, and paving the way for other young musical artists. She especially irritates me because I take my religion very seriously. I do realize that nobody is perfect, we all say stuff we don't do. But she is a role model, and when she gives herself the Christian title, she needs to follow it. I've tried very hard to like Ms. Spears. And there are times when I think she's pretty cool. But the public doesn't see a sweet, innocent, southern christian girl (especially adults. My parents don't like her, and I first heard the Breast Implant rumor from my History teacher). They see a playboy playmate. 50% of the people (notice 50%, not all) who own her CD didn't buy it because they like her music, they bought it because she hot.

And she's not doing anything to open their eyes otherwise. N Sync talks about music and how it can mean so many different things. They are classified as a cute boy group not because that's the image they're out for, but because that's how their fans perseve them. They try, but can do nothing about that. Britney Spears encourages that image, because she knows it sells. She must enjoy being the fantasy of all teenage guys. It's a dream come true. I would love that. But after a while, looks will only go so far, and personality and character will show through. It baffles me why so many girls support her in this, want to be like her and dress like her. We just got out of a "Girl Power" era. She isn't helping women on our fight to not be seen as pieces of "meat" (whoa, did I just say that? I AM NOT A FEMINIST).

Britney is very talented. Her voice is unique (Once you get past that whiny sound), and she dances very well. It's about time she uses her voice, her love for music to sell her records and not her body. Next time Britney, act and pose the way YOU say you will, and should. Be a role model to better our adolescent society, not encourage sex more than it already is.

Now, let me make a statement. I do not hate Britney Spears. I actually have some respect for her. I mean, she's out there doing something she loves to do, and I am sitting here in front of a computer screen. I have no right to judge her. However, she is in a business where much of her life revolves around the public. Some say she is letting the rumors "fly" to get in the spotlight. I don't think this. I've been "researching" her recently and I was appalled to see how many "Nude Britney Pics" sites there are. Some people are truly sick, and Britney does not deserve to have her face plastered on some naked chic's body.

Nobody should. That's just downright tasteless (do i sound like i'm fifty?).I like Ms. Spears sometimes. "Baby One More Time" is a really cool song. I still like it even though it is way over played. But it irks me when people in general dress and act the way she does, and then says she a "good girl". Critics say you're allowed to do that. I say you don't. This is my opinion, and it really doesn't matter.

okay...so the "STATS" has been a little tweaked...
