UltraSound: Revenge of the Boy Bands

-I did not like this one bit. They were totally mocking *N Sync, and blatantly stating they have no faith in this band whatsoever.

-The only way to have this kind of band accepted in the music industry is to have MTV support them. Phil Collins has quoted "They [nsync] are much better than 'the year's big thing'. They have great voices, their fans are just young. Younger fans don't give the loyalty they need.". Now, Phil Collins is a respected musician. And he is absolutely correct about this. Children hold simplicity, and can understand a band like *N Sync. MTV needs complicated, deep, insightful lyrics and a band that does not play by the rules. Bands like KidRock, the Beastie Boys, Korn and Limp Bizkit are practically the only real musician according to MTV. But bands like The Temptations and The Four Tops are regarded as legends because of their intricate harmonies. Why does MTV refuse to recognize N Sync's similarities to these legends? Music is not classified, and should be accepted as it is. There is no definition of a "band", and no degree of meaning in a song. Granted, the lyrics should make sense, a song doesn't need to express the bad in life. The world can be a good place, it's all about how you perceive it. So if you are tired of being depressed, listen to pop music. It holds the same amount of depth, it just makes you feel good. MTV seems to refuse to be happy. One shouldn't have to get wasted on tour to be a real musician. One shouldn't have to have sex with nameless people to be a real musician. One shouldn't have to rebel against "the system" to be a real musician. A musician should make music. I'm sick of MTV saying it's all about the benjamin's, the nookie, and the instruments. Let music be music. Quit with the embroidery, and image, the title, the labels, and go with the music.

-Anyways, I liked the interviews from Jordan and Joey. And I thought Kurt Loder was a little close-minded on the whole situation.
