Carly: Were you with Jason?

Sonny: Why is that any of your business?

Carly: Because I heard what happened at the GH Christmas party, and Jason and Elizabeth Webber left with you. He's forgiven you, hasn't he? And you've made him think that the whole thing was my fault. Hmm?

Carly: Jason can't even look at me. He won't let me touch him, but he'll do whatever you ask him to in front of a room full of people. And you know what, Sonny? Before too long, it'll be just like it used to be. You guys will be right back where you were, except, you know, I'll be cut out of his life, which is probably the way you planned it, right?

Sonny: So what are you, just an innocent victim who just happened to wind up in my penthouse unbuttoning her clothes?

Carly: You wanted me too

Sonny: Don't overestimate yourself, Carly. Yeah, I might've wondered what you'd be like in bed, but now I know. It wasn't worth betraying Jason. I don't know what I was thinking that night. Maybe I just wanted to burn my life down and you were the nearest blowtorch, but -- one thing I do know -- while you were wrapping yourself around me and I was carrying you upstairs, it wouldn't go away. Betrayal lasts. It's as permanent as death.

Carly: It must be really scary inside your head, buddy. Even worse than inside mine Because you don't even let yourself hope. Look, I know what you think you lost. Jason was my best friend, too. He was the person that held me together when I wrecked my life. He was the person that didn't judge, that understood me. And I knew when there was Nothing else he always cared about me.

Sonny: Not anymore.

Carly: Well, I don't know. Maybe I just have more faith in Jason than you do.

Sonny: Why should Jason be any better than you or me? What if he hadn't just been dancing with Elizabeth? What if you walked in on them, they were sleeping together, and she was wearing his shirt? You think you could forget? Then why should Jason?

Carly: Because he loves me.

Sonny: He can find somebody new to love.

Carly: Uh-uh.

Sonny: Maybe he already has.
