Carly was on her way home to get away from the Quartermaine's on New Year's Eve, when the elevator stopped. Now both Carly and Sonny are stuck in the elevator at the PC grill. This is more than just an unpleasant situation however, because Sonny is afraid of enclosed spaces. His step-father Deke used to lock him in the closet when he was a young boy and he has never gotten over it.
Sonny: Come on. Come on.
Carly: Hello? Can anybody hear us? We're in the elevator.
Sonny: I'll try the alarm.
Carly: I don't hear anything.
Sonny: Maybe the problem's electrical.
Carly: That's lovely. This is lovely. The Quartermaines manage to trap me again. Hello! we're stuck in the elevator.
Sonny: Hey, Carly, take it easy. Getting all worked up is not going to help anything.
Carly: Do you understand that if we don't get out of here your face is going to be the first one I see in the new millennium?
Sonny: Well, it doesn't make my century, either.
Carly: Could I ask you something?
Sonny: Not tonight.
Carly: Why did Jason forgive you and not me?
Sonny: Ask him?
Carly: How did you manage to convince him it was all my fault Sonny?
Sonny: Believe what you want, Carly. It's not going to matter right now.
Carly: Well, it's not true. You know, if anybody's to blame for it, it's you.
Sonny: Excuse me.
Carly: I was the vulnerable one, you know. I was scared. I was confused. I didn't know what I was doing. You were...you were completely in control. You saw an opportunity to take me, and you took it.
Sonny: I'm going to tell you for the last time, Carly...keep your mouth shut.
Carly: Why is that, Sonny? You can't face what you did?
Sonny: You don't...
Carly: You betrayed your best friend, and now it's business as usual. It's all...you know what? Don't pretend with me because you're proud of yourself.
Sonny: Enough, now! Enough!
Sonny: Can anybody hear me?
Carly: They're probably all watching the clock counting down to midnight. And as soon as the celebration is over, they'll realize the elevator is stuck, and they will come for us.
Sonny: What do you think, I'm going to wait till they finish singing "Happy New Year?"
Carly: Sonny, what is the matter with you?
Sonny: [Sonny’s anxiety is increasing as he tries to control it.] Let me out of this box now!
Carly: It's not like we've been in here for ten days.
Sonny: Maybe it's the company.
Carly: [Carly has found a weak spot and decides to take advantage of it.] Are you claustrophobic or something?
Sonny: No. Why?
Carly: [Laughing mockingly] You mean I'm right? Big bad Sonny Corinthos is afraid of small spaces. Is that why you go everywhere in a limousine? Regular cars too small for you?
Sonny: Don't...don't go there.
Carly: Somebody lock you in a closet when you were a little boy, Sonny?
Sonny: [He screams at her] Keep your filthy mouth shut!
[Carly is shocked and is immediately sorry.] Carly: Sorry. Is there anything I can do?
Sonny: Stop using my air.
Carly: [Trying to reassure him, she speaks softly to him.] Don't worry, okay? It' all right. They're going to get us out of here real soon. Just don't worry. Calm down. Just breathe.
