Carly is reading a magazine in the family room when quietly enters.

Sonny: Is that what you do all day? Think of new ways to spend the Quartermaines’ money?

Carly: Actually, I’m looking for things for the new baby.

Sonny: Oh.

Carly: Who the hell let you in here.

Sonny: Oh, I just walked in. No one’s going to stop me. [Carly puts her hand to her forehead.] And as for that, my baby isn’t taking a dime from the Quartermaines. I will provide the baby with whatever it needs.

Carly: You know what? Your arrogance is so unbelievable. All you did was get me pregnant, Sonny. I’m married to somebody else, you know? And I have every intention of raising this child in this house as a Quartermaine. So you don’t get a vote.

Sonny: Wrong.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sonny: I thought you hated the Quartermaines, that you would do anything to break free of them.

Carly: There’s worse people in the world.

Sonny: I know. I’m looking at one. You’ve used Michael since before he was born. You’re not going to do that with my child. I will see to it that my daughter or son is secure and loved.

Carly: Why don’t you save the act, okay, for somebody who buys it. You’re not noble. I know who you are. And I know what you want. The only reason you want this baby is because you want to punish me.

Sonny: Oh, it’s all ab out you, isn’t it? It’s not this baby’s fault that we were selfish and self-destructive, t hat we slept with each other without protection. We didn’t care that we were betraying our best friend. But this baby has a right to be loved and cared for regardless of how it’s conceived. And if there’s any small part of you that’s honest and cares for the child before yourself, you’ll admit that I’m right. This baby doesn’t belong in this house with these people.

Edward: Corinthos, What the hell are you doing here?

Sonny: Oh. I’m just visiting with the mother of my child.

Edward: I'm sorry to hear that because I thought I’d made you understand that it’s best that this child never knows you.

Sonny: Oh, best for you and the Quartermaines maybe, but not me. [To Carly.] I’ll be back...soon.

Edward: [He comes to Carly’s defense.] No, you won’t, even if i have to get a restraining order to keep you away from this poor woman.

Sonny: Let me tell you something, Mr. Quartermaine. You get in my way, you’re going to be looking at more trouble than you can handle.
