Carly lets herself into Jason's apartment and sits down in the darkness.

Carly: Oh, Jase. I need you. Please come home.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sonny comes out of the elevator and sees the door to Jason’s apartment is open. He goes in and sees Carly, who is sitting on the couch and gazing in to the fire. She looks up questioningly when she hears him.

Sonny: Who else?

Carly: We could all be living here right now, you know. Michael would be asleep upstairs, and Jason and I would be cuddled up right here on the couch, watching the fire. We’d be home, you know?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sonny: You think if you wait here long enough, Jason will come back?

Carly: Wouldn’t that be something.

Sonny: Why would he after what we did?

Carly: Not right now, ok?

Sonny: Jason would still be here if it wasn’t for us.

Carly: You know what? I had a really bad day.

Sonny: So?

Carly: So I’m going to leave in a minute.

Sonny: Carly?

Carly: What?

Sonny: How many times have I got to tell you? We only get what we deserve.

Carly: Well, you know what? I’m not arguing with you there.

Sonny: What does that mean?

Carly: Nothing. Why don’t you just leave. Why don’t you go away.

Sonny: No. [He sits down next to Carly on the couch]

Sonny: This place looked like nobody lived here even when he did.

Carly: That would be because your stupid slut FBI girlfriend moved all my nice stuff out. He would have forgiven us, you know?

Sonny: Why would he? Because you want...you want him to?

Carly: No, he just would have, that’s all. I just know that if he would have stayed, you know...

Sonny: Well, Michael didn’t come through for you this time, did he? He got you into the big house, but he can’t get you out, can’t get you here. Can’t get you Jason.

Carly: Absolutely. Whatever you say. Where do you think he is right now? Where do you think he is right this second?

Sonny: What difference does it make?

Carly: I don’t know. I mean, what if he forgot to eat, you know, or crashed his motorcycle or he’s hurt or...

Sonny: Well, you know what? Doesn’t matter as long as he’s away from us. [Carly is trying not to cry]

Carly: No.No.

Sonny: That’s the kind of people we are. You know that, right? You don’t know that, Carly? We destroy the people we love, the innocents that stand too close, the ones who can’t get away. Damn, it’s cold in here, even with the fire. [He abruptly gets up and leaves.]

Carly: [She speaks quietly to herself.] By the way, Sonny, we’re having a baby.
