[Sonny sneaks in through the back doors to the living room. Carly is on the phone talking to a decorator and doesn’t hear him.]
Carly: Well, I kind of...I really kind of like the polka dots, but I think that they’re sort of feminine, you know? And I’m not sure if I’m having a boy or a girl yet, and it it was a boy, I kind of like the ponies. B ut I’m so very up in the air, I really...I have no idea. Can I just call you back? Ok. Ok, thanks.
Sonny: Don’t I get a say?
Carly: Say in what? The Quartermaines would just love your input on decorating their house, I’m sure.
Sonny: I was afraid you were going to say something like that.
Carly: Is this how you deal with restraining orders? What are you doing here?
Sonny: Saving you the trouble of planning a nursery in a house where it’s not going to be.
Carly: Save it. You should take it up with Edward, okay? If you can get a word in before he calls the police.
Sonny: What? The Quartermaines got you hypnotized? You’re not raising my baby in this house.
Carly: Well, I’m not abandoning Michael, either. So I don’t see that I really have a choice.
Sonny: Didn’t...we’ve covered this already.
Carly: Well, I don’t have the money, and I don’t have the power. And you know what? I don’t believe that you’re on my side, frankly. [Sonny looks down at the ground.] Nobody ever has been but Jason. Why did you...why would you suddenly see the light, Sonny?
Sonny: Because you’re having my child.
Carly: Exactly. So, what, butter me up, be really sweet to me for a couple of months, and then what? You going to cut me off? Meanwhile, the Quartermaines get their hooks into Michael?
Sonny: Do yourself a favor...and the baby and Michael and me. Don’t think so hard because you can’t even think straight. You know what I’m saying?
Carly: So I should let you think for me?
Sonny: Haven’t we gone through this? For the baby. I will do whatever I have to do.
[Edward suddenly walks in and finds them together.]
Edward: Thank you, Mr. Corinthos, for giving me the pleasure of having you arrested and charged.
Sonny: What, you make it a habit of arresting board members who come to consult the Quarterlies?
Edward: Who do you think you’re fooling? Did you mistake my restraining order for a greeting card?
Sonny: Your restraining order?
Edward: Well,Carly's.
Sonny: Well, Carly and I, we’re having a discussion. Carly, can you tell the old man that we need some time...
[Both the men plead with Carly, addressing the following comments to her.]
Edward: Don’t let this man try to influence you. He is powerless.
Sonny: You know how much the old man lies. Come on.
Edward: It’s in your best interest to avoid this man.
Sonny: He doesn’t care about your interests, Carly. Don’t you listen to him...
[Carly and Sonny stare at each other. Carly has tears in her eyes and looks like she is stuggling with an inner battle.]
Edward: Oh, and you do?
Sonny: You got to make a choice. Make the right one, please.
Edward: Don’t just think about yourself. Think about your children, about Michael.
Sonny: Tell him to go to hell.
Edward: Isn’t it perfectly clear what you have to do?
[Carly sits down at the table and tries to look at fabric samples Sonny: He’s bluffing.
Edward: Please inform Mr. Corinthos that I don’t bluff.
Carly: You’re in violation of the restraining order. .]
Edward: There. Was that plain enough for you?
Sonny: [He leans over to whisper.] Hey. Carly...You just make a big mistake.
