[Sonny is on the phone talking business. There is a knock on the door and Johnny lets Mike in. Mike is carrying a big white rocking chair with a bow on it. The chair is for Carly and Sonny tells Mike about her letting Bobbie into his desk. Mike almost defends Carly to his son.]

[Carly is at an antique store checking out a desk. It is an old roll-top desk with a unique key to lock it. She buys the desk for Sonny.]

[Carly returns to the penthouse and finds Liz sitting in Mike’s rocker to her. She assumes that it is a gift from Sonny though. They almost immediately start arguing after Carly orders Liz to leave. Liz taunts her about Jason, which ends up with Carly slapping her just as Sonny enters. ]

Carly: Get out!

Elizabeth: If you weren’t pregnant right now, I’d be all over you. But unlike you, I have respect for Sonnys child.

Sonny: Thank you.

Carly: Sonny, I’m so glad you’re here.

Sonny: What happened?

Elizabeth: You know what? I shouldn’t have even come.

Carly: I couldn’t get rid of her. She was saying horrible things about me and about the baby.

Elizabeth: Oh, that’s not true.

Carly: Just make her leave.

Sonny: No, she’ll go when I say. You ok?

Elizabeth: I'm going to go.

Sonny: Elizabeth? I’m sorry for any, you know, unpleasantness that you had to deal with in my house.

Elizabeth: It’s ok.

Carly: Excuse me? What about what I had to deal with?

Sonny: You do not raise your voice to Elizabeth in my house. She’s to be treated with respect, as my guest.

Carly: And the mother of your child doesn’t deserve respect?

Sonny: You’ll get it when you earn it. I’ll walk you to the elevator.

[Sonny and Elizabeth talk at the elevator. He apologizes again for Carly and then comes back inside. Carly is sitting in the chair with a big smile.]

Carly: The chair is perfect. I love it. It’ll be perfect while I rock the baby to sleep in it every night.

Sonny: Yeah? You like it?

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: Yeah?

Carly: Yeah.

Sonny: Like it a lot?

Carly: Thank you.

Sonny: You should send Mike a note.

Carly: It’s not from you?

Sonny: Why would I buy you anything?

Carly: So the chair wasn’t from you? My mistake.

Sonny: One of many.

Carly: What is that supposed to mean?

Sonny: It’s not bad enough that you betray me, but I walk in here, you’re smacking some innocent girl across the face. What is that about?

Carly: Innocent? What, is that what she told you? What else did she say about me?

Sonny: Back off, Carly.

Carly: I'm having your child, Sonny. You treat me like dirt. What does Elizabeth Webber have that makes her so perfect? Obviously you put her up on some pedestal. Why am I stuck in the gutter?

Sonny: Elizabeth's never lied to me. Never broken my trust.

Carly: Give her a minute.

[There is a knock on the door.]

Sonny: Yeah? What is it?

Johnny: Delivery for you.

Sonny: Delivery?

Sonny: What the hell is this supposed to be?

Carly: It’s supposed to be a present for you.

Sonny: Did I say I needed a desk?

Carly: It has a key. It locks. [She slams the key down on top of the desk.] You don’t have to worry about trusting me anymore.

[Sonny looks the desk over with interest.]
