Before embarking on his colorful career in professional wrestling, Savage was an accomplished athlete on the baseball diamond. His transition from baseball spikes to wrestling boots has smoked with the success of a Tom Glavine fastball.

As a multi-talented personality, "Macho Man" has spun his fame into becoming a major pitchman for Slim Jim beefsticks, encouraging everyone to "Snap into a Slim Jim." He has been featured on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, The Jeff Foxworthy Show, Baywatch and is the only wrestler to appear on Politically Incorrect. Savage's one-of-a-kind voice has also led him to roles in the Hanna-Barbera cartoon Dial M for Monkey and Cartoon Network's Space Ghost. Most recently, "Macho Man" was named as the Harvard Lampoon's 1998 Real Man of the Year joining past distinguished honorees as John Wayne, Billy Crystal and Robin Williams. WCW opponents and fans can expect "Macho" madness to only grow larger, Ooooh Yeah!
