Siggies

The fire I once saw in your eyes

Died down with your love

Along with your respect for me

And then push came to shove

With the last tear I shed for you

I also shed my self-pity

My love, my hope, and my concern

You treated me poor and you treated me shitty

Out of this emotional scar

You had carved into my brain

Bled trust and ignorance and compassion

From love now, I refrain

Like a cigarette, you used my love

You enjoyed the buzz that you found

Like a butt you flicked me away

And squished me into the ground

Your lust for me, it was short-lived

Soon another smoke is between your nails

You’ll ignite that love with your lighter of lies

When the buzz is gone, you’ll bail

I know you think you’re in control

You use our love as you please

But in the end we’ll get you back

It’s a killer, that cigarette disease
