That Place

Night's darkness turns into day

And the rotten still decay

And the docks lay on the bay

Never ever to go away

Why I left I'll never say

About that place I used to stay

Well I guess I can tell thee

Come, sit down, and have some tea

Listen to my story and you will see

Why that place was not for me

And why that place will always be

Just a place down by the sea

I left that place in pouring rain

I ran from all the killing pain

I wanted all madness to be tame

I wanted no more of all this strain

I left that place so I'd stay sane

The place that left me all in vain

I left her there at home one night

Left her there in purest fright

Than when I had just left its sight

The monster came to wrong the right

If I was there, oh what a fight!

But that one place had lost its light

I got back not at all that late

For he was still there to meet his fate

The blood was on him, oh just wait!

For it would be me to set him straight

I remember, in detail, that one dark date

The date that place turned into hate

As his last breath had now expired

I suddenly realized that I was tired

But the surprise on the bed made me wired

And the heat of my rage had now been hired

To tell my life it had to be fired

All at that place I would've retired

But that was a thought that did not last

I told myself to forget the past

And yet it was going all so fast

What evil thing had just been cast?

I ran from that place by the sea so vast

That place of nothing but devilish drast

So now I suppose you do see my friend

That just about everything comes to an end

And why my sanity is one to tend

For I don't think people want it to bend

If you don't believe me, then you I'll send

To that place of pain, does your life depend
