Batman: Return of the Joker

Looks like another great title that came out of the era known as the NES. This sequel is really distinctive on its own. Most of what you remember of the original Batman game has been redone. And in some cases for the better. The overall look still bears a moody feel, but somehow reminds me of the comics. A definite plus for this deserving crime-fighting hero. And everything such as the characters & backgrounds in the game are huge & detailed. Yeah, no more squinting. The music has even been pumped up with jazzy riffs & cool beats. Giving the series a modern feel. The biggest change you're going to notice is in the gameplay department. Unlike the close combat & wall jumping skills that the game originally called for, the play now feels somewhat like a shooter. Most of the fighting portions are accomplished with an upgradeable arm mount. Along stages you will find spread shots, heat seeking, & other types of ammo for your use. It just puts a spin on the whole thing that I actually ended up liking better than the first. It has such a fast paced arcade feel now. And luckily there's still lots of jumping & other platform action. There's a lot of surprises to be had & the game is exciting. Whether you're a Batman fan or not, I'm sure any person is going to have their time with this game.
