Castlevania

This is the first in a long legacy that still exists to this very day. No not Dracula. I'm talking about Castlevania of course. When Konami released this title they had the intention of making a game like no other out there. So they did away with the cutesy graphics of old & created a kind of horror theme. They incorporated lots of ghastly creatures including Medusa, the Grim Reaper, Zombies, & even Dracula himself. And they also instilled some huge, dark, & mysterious backdrops for the story to play out on. And thus, Castlevania was created. What other game had such a mature feeling at the time? None & that's what brought it such attention. The game is very entertaining. If not to say difficult. Partly due to the numberous enemies & also because of some sluggish controls. But you could manage if you kept at it. Stages are laid out well for a side scroller & there's enough variety in weapons & backgrounds to keep you traveling. Like I implied before the big seller for this game is the entire theme. Nothing else was quite like it at the time & it remains fun to this day. Heck there's been over 7 different versions of the game spread onto countless consoles. There's definitely a crowd that enjoys this series. Try it out if you can find yourself a copy.
