Marvel vs. Capcom

About time Capcom released an arcade perfect port of their amazing VS series. This time we get Marvel vs Capcom. The cast consists of charcters from both universes such Morrigan, Mega Man, Ryu, Wolverine, Spider-Man, & the Hulk. And the last boss is the huge & totally fierce Onslaught of Marvel fame. The stages are also huge & feature all kinds of tiny detail. Such as pedestrians wandering back & forth, flags & other objects reacting to the wind, & just so many other little details it almost looks like a living cartoon. The characters themselves are wildly animated & have some of the craziest move I've ever seen. Imagine screen filling explosions & stage wide fireballs as the battle ensues. Sometimes you can get 4 or more characters on the screen at once performing attacks without any slowdown. Now that's amazing. Sometimes you can lose yourself in the chaos, but that's rare. So the game is obviously pretty. And I'm sure Capcom's classic gameplay stands up against wannabes, but the normal DC pad doesn't cater itself to this type of game. Most of the time you end up having to twist you fingers all around to pull off certain moves. If you can find an arcade stick you definitely wanna pick it up for this game. Other than that the game is instantly reactive & offers a wide variety of attacks, taunts, & other amazing stunts. And the Tag-Team & 4 Player Cross-Over mode are welcome additions to the title as well since it has never been duplicated on a home system before. Just wait till you get 4 guys together playing this game. It's total mayhem! The graphic prowess is mind-blowing! Oh, and did I mention Zero Load time. Everything loads up in a snap, no waiting. It's a great game, but you might get tired with it easily especially after playing previous Capcom games. The endings also lack any flair & sense so they're not really worth getting. This game is definitely at it's best when you wanna play against a group of friends. It's a Good Arcade Experience, just don't expect a deep time consuming game. Keep up the good work Capcom!

Category Rating How & Why?
Graphics 9 Arcade Perfect Animation & Look / Hi-Res makes it look a little Blocky but it's Forgivable
Music 7 The Track is mostly Remixes of Previous Music but it's Muddled under the Outstanding SoundEffects
Gameplay 8 Plenty of Flashy, Over-the-Top Moves / Tag-Team & Cross-Over Features bring a Freshness & Exhilirating Pace to this aging type of game / DC pad sucks when compared to the Arcade Stick
Innovation 8 a genuine Arcade Perfect version of a Capcom VS game! / Format is beginning to Get Old
Replay 8 Definitely a Game meant for 2 or more Players / a Fun, but Short Arcade Experience / the Game seems a lot Harder than the Arcade for some reason

Overall 8.0
