Final Fantasy

Final Fantasy, just one of the games that started the small movement behind role playing games. The story will definitely please fans even though the technology is dated. It takes place back in the day of yore. Where everyone was a knight or petty merchant & the day's chore consisted of saving the princess & defeating the dastardly dragon. By now it has become almost cliche, but remember this was the first to introduce such thoughts. You select four characters from a group that includes magicians, knights, martial artists, & the such. As you travel the countryside while trying to complete the King's orders you come across many side events. Which extends the gameplay & keeps things interesting. Not to mention numberous battles that take place with the now classic "menu" system. In which drop down menus inform you of battle & magical attacks. However the whole process is kind of slow & can get tedious after awhile. All the while you need to build your character up & keep upgrading his or her armor & weapons for next round of baddies. There's a lot to worry about so you'll usually always have something to keep you busy. Besides, it's interesting to see how old RPGs used to be. Aside from the fact that it is the first Final Fantasy title.
