Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of the Foot Clan

This is the Ninja Turtles first shot at a Gameboy game. And sadly Konami felt it necessary to make another boring & uninteresting platform game the little Nintendo machine. For the most part it's straight forward side-scrolling action. With the occasionally boss battle thrown in for good measure. Again, there's nothing wrong with these types of games. But when it lacks any pizazz or originality it becomes boring very quickly. What I believe really hurt the gameplay was the graphics. It features large characters & huge backgrounds that just don't fit well on the GB screen. For this reason you're making simple jumps using large platforms & characters. Kinda like that Milk commercial with Mario. Remember how easy it was for him to climb those stairs when he's big. It all adds up to a simple & ultimately mundane game. Too bad there wasn't any other different gameplay styles like other TMNT games. It could have really help to break up the action. It's not one of the best Gameboy titles ever made & you'll definitely be better off buying something else to fulfill your gaming needs.

Category Rating How & Why?
Graphics 6 Decent Graphics for the GB / Characters look out of Proportion & Movement seems Akward
Music 7 A Bunch of Old Remixes on the TMNT Theme / Doesn't Sound that Good on the GB
Gameplay 6 Average Platforming Action / the Premise gets Tiresome / Not Enough Variety
Innovation 5 Wow another 2D Platform Game for the GB (sarcasm please) / Not very Fun or Inventive as other TMNT games
Replay 3 It might hold your Attention for a Few Minutes / A Boring, Cookie-Cutter Platform Game

Overall 5.4
