Splatterhouse 3
There's just something cool about Splatterhouse 3. It has this great B-Grade movie appeal (much like the Evil Dead movies excluding the Army of Darkness) and who doesn't get a kick out of making monsters explode? The gameplay is a bit different from previous Splatterhouse titles (though the meat of the game remains fighting). This time you're free to explore the house as you wish, but your goal is always to find the exit. And whether you can exit before time runs out will affect who lives and who dies in your scattered family of three. Yep there's quite a story here and the route it takes all depends upon how good you are at fighting and finding exits. Sure it gets a little repetitive at times, but it's the incredibly cool theme (or maybe even plot) of Splatterhouse that keeps you going regardless. The game is easily enjoyable and is a good change of pace for the genre (does every brawler must have a group of rebels fighting against a common enemy?). If not for the classic gameplay the story should be enough to warrant purchase. Now how about a Dreamcast Splatterhouse, Namco - Sega?
