Tinhead
Sure, Tinhead might look like a pretty good game at first glance. But in the end the repetitive gameplay and lack of fun (or originality) is what ultimately puts this game to rest a bit too early. There's nothing wrong with the initial premise or the set controls. But it never grows beyond collecting orbs, finding the star, and hitting the escape pod. Sure you get to fight an enormous boss at the end of every stage, but it does little to gratify the player. It would have also helped out if Tinhead's upgrades (weapons) were more plenitful and could be used for advancing in a stage. But as is, they're just boring gimmicks that get a few seconds of screen time & use. It's a simple case of pretty visuals and average gameplay with this title. A nice effort by Spectrum Holobyte, but Tinhead just doesn't compare to Dynamite Headdy (by Treasure) or Sonic (by Sega).
