Battle Arena Toshinden
Most owners of the Playstation (especially back in '95) will likely remember this title. It was Sony's first foray into the 3D fighting genre and was the only competition for Sega's Virtua Fighter. And though Toshinden totes more spectacular visuals than VF, the gameplay is much simplier and your opponents are push-overs. There's only 3-5 special moves per character and since combos are virtually non-existence the depth of the fighting system is very limited. Not necessarily bad, but Virtua Fighter (even with it's blocky graphics) offered alot more in terms of gameplay and moves than this title. Unfortunately the few problems this series had was never fixed in the sequels and Battle Arean Toshinden #1 remains the best if you're deciding to stick with. But it's more likely that most of you have already moved onto other 3D fighters such as Soul Calibur or Tekken Tag Tournament. Oh well the ride of good while it lasted.
