Deathtrap Dungeon
This game just proves that a modified engine of the Tomb Raider games doesn't always mean a sure fire hit. As I've already said, the game plays a lot like Tomb Raider. Allowing for lots of adventuring, but with a slightly more manuverable character (of course with a sword instead of a gun). But the problem comes in the actual exploration part of the game. Most of the time, it's incredibly easy to figure out where to go. And the few puzzles that there are consist of pressing a button or finding a switch. With the missions & traps being so easy to figure out, it just kills the whole exploration theme. But at other times, there's some puzzles which are down-right impossible to solve until you check it out on the internet. And when you get the answer you realize how stupid & really easy it should have been to solve. Hmm, uneven difficulty helps make for a frustrated player. And don't even ask me about the poor combat controls. The other major problem comes in the form of the graphics. Alot of the characters just look stiff & don't look right when they move. And that wouldn't have been such a problem if most of the backgrounds didn't look the same & carry that familar 'Tomb Raider' design. Some of the larger characters have are incredibly blocky look that shoots the realism of it to heck. Not to mention the infamous 'fog' which blankets the deep background. You would just expect something a little more original from this title. And I know it's off the subject, but doesn't the female character look like her nipples are a little too high up on her chest. That's a little disturbing don't you think? Too bad fantasy fans. You're gonna have to look elsewhere to fullfil your dreams.
