Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee

Remember "Out of this World" & "Flashback" on the SNES? Will if you do, then you already have a pretty good idea on how Abe's Oddysee should play like. But this game is more than just rip-off of some old SNES games. It takes the classic formula & adds a bunch of unique twists that makes Oddworld a game all it's own. Talking & Communication plays an intregal role in Oddworld. As Abe must get other Mudokens to follow him & save their lives. You can also taunt enemies & lure them into traps, or play music with other friends. Another neat feature is that Abe's soul can inhabit certain bodies. Imagine stealing one of the enemy's body, going into the kennel, & commanding the animals to attack all the other bad guys. It's stuff like this that make Oddworld so interesting & enjoyable. Though some of the levels can be very frustrating because you don't see the immediate solution to the puzzle or trap. Luckily you have infinite lives & after a couple of tries you'll be able to solve most of the problems. The graphics are top-notch featuring plenty of animation (some very funny stuff, like farting) & loads of FMV that carry the plot along. It almost seems that Abe is a real character & you can't help but love his adorable persona. But let me mind you that this not a game suited for all the little kids. Some of the scenery is actually down right disturbing. There's just so many ways to kill a Mudoken. Besides, the gameplay is probably too much for younger kids to handle anyways. Oddworld is definitely what it's name suggests & any true gamer will have a blast playing this classic. Enjoy!
