Ridge Racer Type 4

Ridge Racer 4 plays like any other good racing game. But this time the emphasis is on arcade style control & power sliding. Making the game quite a fast & furious play. Just perfecting your power slides is fun enough as you go blazing by 90° turns at 200mph. So fans of the previous games are going to love this title just for the good play. But what really helps this little racing game stand out from the crowd are all the little additions & improvements. The most obvious of them being the Story Mode. In this mode you take the role of the driver as you select a race car team & go on to a grand prix. From here you can do all sorts of things from upgrading your engine to desiging the look of your car before the big race. Depending upon how you race the story & the reaction you get from your team changes. Of course if you race good they all congratulate you & you get a chance to enter into a better racing circuit. But if you crash constantly & don't even rank in the upper four, your team starts to dislike you & your options start to become limited. It's a pretty neat addition that completes the whole racing feel. And if anything has changed it's definitely the graphics. Now the tracks are littered with all sorts of details. Such as the Highway stage that shows off a bunch of neat architecture & amazing light display. As you can see realistic reflections off the cars & light trails from the headlights. Too Cool. It's so mind-numbing just to watch. Big racing fans can also expect over 200 cars to be found thanks to the Gran Turismo trend. Though most of them are just repaints on other car models. Still there's plenty of fun & enjoyment to be had with this title. Especially if you're getting tired of Gran Turismo. Try Ridge Racer Type 4 for a change.
