Tekken 2

Tekken is back, and this time it's better than the arcade. The game still pretty much plays the same, but the additional moves and quicker reaction time makes things so much more enjoyable. It's a really fast paced & action-filled event now. Most of the cinemas have been reworked making them different & even better than what the arcade had to offer. Some of the events might surprise arcade veterans. All of the same characters return but with a few new additions to the roster as well. Such as the Devil & Angel characters. Getting into new territory now, aren't we? Very cool. The graphics have definitely jumped up a notch. Though they're still a little blocky they look so much more detailed & the lighting effects add a real sense of depth. The backgrounds are also architecturely stunning when compared to those in the first title. And you can finally fight in an open space over the enclosed arean found in Virtua Fighter 2. So much has evolved & improved in this home version of Tekken 2, that it easily dominates the former arcade king. It just goes to show what a little effort into a home conversion can do for a game. Tekken 2 is another instant classic that every PSX owner should have. Namco has proven themselves a worthy video game company. And I hope to see many more great games like this in the future.
