Tobal 2

Too bad the American public missed out on this little gem. The US sales of the first Tobal weren't that good so Square opted not to release the sequel over here. And by the time Square-EA Lmd was formed the game was too old and couldn't fit into their translation schedule (personally I would have given up Xenogears for this title). Unfortunately that's how things are in the gaming industry, but all us lucky importers can atleast enjoy Tobal 2. Now comparing this title to Tobal No.1 is like comparing apples to oranges. Tobal 2 just offers so much more & is such a different game from it's brethren. The 3D combat remains but is used more extensively. There's also a greater emphasis on the grapple holds which are plentiful and can be used to start off massive combos. The characters size also plays alot into the fighting. Some characters are simply enourmous while others are practically laying on the ground. It makes for quite the scene as you try to figure what moves will get to your opponent & won't work. The game seems very balanced but the fireball system kinda throws things off. It's far to easy to knock your opponent back, charge up your fireball, & wipe the other guy off the face of the earth. So as far as 3D fighting goes it has it's own niche.
