Fighting Vipers
Now this is truly an awesome fighting game. The gameplay offers as many moves as Virtua Fighter 2, but goes way beyond what it could ever do. The arenas are enclosed & the walls can be used to your advantage. Along with scaling the perimeter & performing wrestling-moves off of it, you can use the wall to corner enemies. Nothing's better than getting the jump on your opponent & him with no where to run. And each character is embedded within a heavy layer of armor. If you can manage to snap the armor off, that character will be more vulnerable. Good for you, bad for them. Along with the addition of weapons (like guitars & skateboards) these features just add so much more depth & flair to an aging genre. These are some of the best character designs I've seen in a long time too. Ah, sweet Honey. Like in most fighters this game features the basic rounds of play which includes team battle & training. I'm not to familar with the arcade so I can't comment on how good of a port it is. But from what I heard it's pretty much dead on (better than VF2 even!). As with Virtua Figher 2 the game is still pretty short & easy to beat. Not after long you'll find yourself having done everything possible in the game. But as it stands, Fighting Vipers easily offers a much better & more enjoyable experience.
