Nights: Into Dreams
Nights turns out to be a great, original game. There's nothing else quite like it. You basically play as the Nights character as he must manuver through a twisting array of loops & balls. Requiring quick reaction & good timing skills. And with the conclusion of each area comes a boss. Which must be disposed of in certain way. Either by throwing them through a wall, knocking them on their noggin, or by some other weakness. While it's relatively easy to blast through the game, the challenge comes in mastering each of the different stages. You're graded on an A,B,C,D,F scale on how well you can make it through each stage. This means nailing all the loops & everything else that you come upon & getting them in the right order the first time through. And if you happen to loose, you're thrown to the ground where you must collect up all the orbs you just dropped. Of course having to keep an eye out for bad guys which can instantly end your game. The graphics are simply amazing. With all the twisting & turning your character does you can't help but become mezmorized. Not to mention the long flowing ribbons & other explosive effects going on here. The only problem with this game is that it is too short & over too quickly. There just should have been more modes of play or better yet some hidden stages. But as it stands, Nights remains one of the better & more memorable Saturn titles available.
