Street Fighter II: the World Warrior
Yep, this is the game that made such waves in the video game market back in the early 90's. Practically the first really good fighing game of it's kind. This is meant to be the follow up to the original, more commonly known as Fighting Streets. In this edition you are now offered a round selection of characters instead of always being stuck with Ryu or Ken. And the number of moves you can perform has greatly widened over the last. Along with large, heavily animated backgrounds. The game engine has been nearly perfected with characters that are all perfectly balanced & are yet uniquely different from one another. It also started the short trend in other fighters with the between bouts mini-game. The only fighting game I know of that let you beat the crap of a brand new car. I truly miss these little events when playing today's fighters. The only gripes I ever had with this game was the kinda of slow action & the lack of secrets. However it still remains a enjoyable & skill-testing title. This is a classic that has been reproduced many times upto this very day. And while others have improved upon the original formula, you just can't beat the original. If you haven't played Street Fighter yet (and who hasn't?) then you gotta give this one a shot.
