Adventures of Batman & Robin

Remember when Konami released nothing but the best games back in the glory days of the SNES. Luckily this title was one of them. It featured the smoothest animation ever seen to date. You wouldn't believe how gracefully Batman moved. And the background looked like it was taken straight out of the actual series. Totally amazing with it's long futuristic angles, but 50's style look. They even had enough time to animate some of the backgrounds as to make it 3D. And if you're fan of the series, you'll notice immediately that a lot of attention & detail has been put in. You see most of the main super-villians. Such as Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, the Riddler, Clayface, the Scarecrow, Harlequinn, & even the Joker himself among others. Even key points & events from the shows have been faithfully reproduced. Actually all the stages are built around particular episodes & villians. Such as the one with the Riddler & his Giant Maze with all the moving Chess pieces, breakaway boards, & actual Riddles to solve. Very cool. The control is spectacular too. Allowing for intricate jumps & manuvering, but also an array of attacks to pummel his enemies with. Not to mention the fabled "Grapple" which lets Batman swing all over the place. Just one note. Even though Robin is in the title, do not expect 2-player action or even seeing him a whole lot. It's like this becuase the game was in developement when the show was known as 'Batman: the Animated Series'. And in the show's title change, Konami thought they should accompany with a game title switch. Oh, well. This game is amazing, the excellent control coupled with the hardcore dedication to an ever-lasting series just shows what kind of effort can be created. All companies who want to license a title better take a look at this game & better make sure to get right the first time as with this title! Hands-Down the Best Batman game you're ever going to play.
