Aliens vs Predator
The sad fact is that this is not an arcade port of the superior Capcom Aliens vs Predator, but is a completely different game made by another company. There is no relationship between the two what-so-ever in terms of design and gameplay. With that said lets continue.
Games rarely come out this bad. From the very beginning you'll realize little effort was put into this title. Character size ratios are all off. I know it's a minor qualm, but it's still noticable. And the backgrounds are utterly flat and plain. Half of the stages don't even look like the areas they're trying to emulate (such as the Aliens lair and their Spaceship). There's very little graphical flair connected to comic series or the actual movies. In fact it looks more like a cartoon. The game is obviously suppose to be a side-scrolling brawler. But the sluggish Predator and his ridiculously limited arsenal kills the entire experience. On top of that you fight nothing but color-palette swapped Aliens. What the game boils down to is run right, punch the Alien, run right again. Talk about boring. Maybe if the Predator truly had some fighting moves and the different colored Aliens had unique attacks it might have held my attention till the end. Oh, by the way the ending blows big time. But as it stands this effortlessly made title just isn't worth your time. You're best off sticking to the arcade version of Aliens vs Predator by Capcom.
