Brawl Brothers

Jaleco is hands down the master of side-scrolling beat 'em ups. It's set up much like Final Fight, but just expands on the whole concept. Asides from the regular combo & jumps attacks, are the widly varied amount of grapples. You can get a hold of an enemy then smash their face, toss them idley aside, or drop them flat on their heads. And with comic style "Pows" & "Smacks" to accompany. The different moves & styles of the 5 characters provide quite a dazzling show. Fantastic cast by the way. Not to mention the 'Angry Mode'. When a character suffers multiple hits in a row, they go into the 'Angry Mode'. Which allows them to launch their oppenents across the screen & deal a incredible amounts of damage along with slight invincibility. Cool indeed. They even pick up bombs, shot-guns, & health replenishing food. The graphics are state of the art. With highly detailed & intricate backgrounds that get the player involved. Such as a stage that has a helicopter firing at you as it flies by side of the bridge. And another that's loaded with land mines (great for throwing enemies onto). And the music as, upbeat as it is, definitely gives the game a personality all it's own. All together, Brawl Brothers is just a great game. It's fun with just one-player as it is two player. And the attention to detail & interaction just completes the package. This another fabulous game that belongs in anyone's SNES collection. Enjoy!
