Doom

Looks like Doom finally made it's way to the old SNES. Now let's see what all the hypes about. I've never been a real fan of the game, but I've got to admit. It's definitely a new gameplay experience. You play from a first-person perspective. As you shoot at zombie soilders & demons. Along with the gory mess they dead bodies make. But the real fun (at least I think) comes in the exploration aspect. Each level is intricately designed. Holding an in-numberable amount of pathways & secret areas. In these hidden places you can find fabled weapons such as the 'Chain Saw'. All the better to slash & maim your enemies with. So overall it's a pretty good game. Just too bad I'm sick of it now, becuase I see the same thing in like every other game out there. The only problems this game has is with the graphics. Everything is really pixelated & have a horrible blocky look to them. Along with dark, dank colors it doesn't help things much. It all ends up looking like a heavy load of mud or some kind of gunk. And the animation is just as bad. With like 2 or 3 frames of animation per character. More work in the graphics department could have really brought this game upto a whole other level. Otherwise as it stands, you should at least try this game once in your life. And the SNES rev of Doom ain't that bad of a place to start out. But there is better out there.
