disney's the Lion King
If these Disney titles can prove anything. It's that Virgin Interactive can really make a decent 2D platformer. The gameplay follows Simba as he is growing up. The first level starting out with him as a wonderous young cub. And the last level ending with him as an adult lion. And so the gameplay changes a little as he gets older. Allowing for more & stronger 'pounces' & other attacks. The basic theme is to make his way to the end of the level all while collecting a bunch of icons. Stuff you've seen in about every 2D platformer. And that's about as much fun as the game gets. There is the occasional bonus level starring the two comical-relief characters, but that's about it. The game is by no means bad just average. It's animated well & all the levels are intricately designed, but there just isn't enough to hold my interest. Whether it's the fact that I'm playing a Disney title or just an average 2D scroller, I'm not sure. You can give 'the Lion King' a look, but I'm pretty sure you can find much more enjoyable titles out there. Can't Disney do anything else besides a Side Scroller with their titles?
