Ogre Battle
Now here's a true classic for the old SNES. In it's hayday no other game could quite compare or even represent the same faction as this title did. Despite it's few flaws the game was fun. And it offered the console owner a stragety game that only the PC guys had. You take the control of a brave leader who manages an entire fleet of soldiers. Ranging from the basic Knights to flying Dragons. Each character type had it's strengths & weaknesses. Which of course had to be taken into account as you set up your attack plan. You could only watch the fights, your only involvement was the Magic Cards that you could imploy at any time. And make sure to upgrade your troops & keep them all healthy. Still it was cool watching your army wipe out an entire nation. Your main goal was to liberate the entire map from the enemy. In the heat of battle you could uncover many an item & even form alliances. You know, all the good stuff that comes in an Stragety RPG. It was just so cool to play something of this type on my SNES. And I really can't think of any other games that have left such a good impression besides War Craft for the PC. Stragety fans can't go wrong with this classic. And since Enix only made so few of the game, it's kind of collector's item by today's terms. So if you find, I highly recommend picking up Ogre Battle.
